Marketing’s role at Mentimeter is quite unique and extremely powerful, the two main stakeholders are the Product Department and the Sales Department:

  • Product, since our go-to-market is mainly viral and our marketing becomes product-marketing (email automation, content, data analysis etc)
  • Sales, since our customer journey goes from free -> self-service customer -> Enterprise customer. Today we have over 15 million registered leaders & 105 000 paying self-service customers in all countries in the world - in this database of 15 million registered leaders we have over 37 000(!) organisations that have over 20 registered leaders… a HUGE opportunity for scalable demand generation!

You will lead an already high-performing team consisting of talented, and to a high degree specialised, marketeers working with modern frameworks that focus on growth and scale.

You will report to the CEO, be a member of the management team and have the responsibility of leading the department to reach their goals as well as ensuring team happiness and stability. Role responsibilities

  • Responsible for Marketing Strategy (evolving, getting the Marketing team and Menti excited about it, communicating it clearly) and lead the vision of what the future of modern marketing is for a SaaS company
  • Responsible for Marketing Budget (plan, execute, followup) and core KPIs
  • Part of the Management Team
  • Internal thought leader of the Menti way of doing marketing
  • Analyse KPI deviations & take actions when needed
  • Responsible for the ROI of marketing investments
  • Supply CEO & the Board with analysis of business value generated as well as other ad hoc analysis
  • Support the team by guiding the high level tactics needed to execute on the strategy
  • Line Manager for senior leaders in the team, leader of the Marketing Leadership Team


Skills Needed: 

Role requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience within relevant field and seniority
  • Experience from building & leading a team or a department of at least 20 people
  • Experience of building strategies and leading teams working with product-first go to market strategies (e.g Email automation, CRM, Marketing automation, Content, Performance Marketing, Brand, SEO etc)
  • Experience of building strategies and leading teams working with land-and-expand and/or Enterprise sales motion (e.g Demand Generation, Marketing Automation, Lead Scoring, CRM, post-sales automation and scaling, Brand & Thought leadership etc)
  • Have been part of a management team reporting to the CEO and used to present strategic topics
  • Ability to zoom in and out - strategic thinker who can partner with the CEO while you know the mechanics of what your team is doing.
  • Previous budget responsibility (30-100+ msek budget at least) preferably a part of that in deployed Campaigns and Spend (not only OPEX)
  • Proven success in delivering measurable business value in the teams you’ve been leading
  • Experience of the tactics, martech and tracking enabling the set up of automated & scalable marketing (e.g. experience of leading teams working with marketing automation, CRO, SEO, inbound marketing, demand generation etc.) These areas of marketing has been key to our success so being able to lead a Director of Marketing Operations is a must
  • Experience in using external partnerships in the marketing mix
  • Very analytical and data/insights driven
  • Great communicator

Not required:

  • You don't have to know Swedish (daily work is carried out in English)
