Analytics Engineer

Stockholm, Stockholm, Sweden

Full time

Sep 7

Mentimeter's vision is to transform presentations and meetings into fun and interactive experiences by making it easy to listen and to be heard. We believe in giving everyone a voice, in every meeting and presentation. We are building a modern, friendly, and diverse product-first tech company based in Stockholm and we would love for you to join us!

The Data Platform Team at Mentimeter builds data products and platforms that influence the future path of the company. The team is part of the larger Data and Analytics organization which consists of other embedded and central teams of data scientists, analysts and insight people. Here, you’ll be working on a data ecosystem that serves all of the departments (Product, Marketing, Sales and Finance) with both data as well as tooling. You will have a direct impact on the future of Mentimeter’s business and product decisions.

As an Analytics Engineer, you will collaborate closely with teams across all departments to enable easier and better use of our data. You will be a key member in the Data Platform Team, making sure we can use our data to its full extent and ensuring we have good practices in place for future growth. As such you will be developing our data models and data quality assurance and support data warehouse and data pipeline development. You will also be a key stakeholder in collaborating with all different teams to ensure maximum data-usage efficiency across Mentimeter, through our BI systems and data education.

With a large interest across the whole organization to become more data-driven, we value someone who enjoys optimizing data knowledge and is incredibly collaborative. Some of the tools that we’re using today are Amazon Redshift, Prefect, Fivetran, dbt, and Metabase. We’re also on the path of migrating to Looker. Today, your team consists of a lead, two data engineers and one analytics engineer.

Key responsibilities:

  • Own and maintain our core data models and empower the organization to use and interpret these.
  • Develop and maintain automated data quality assurance.
  • Maintain and share knowledge of data through our BI tool and similar systems for data documentation and consumption.
  • Work with data analysts and scientists to develop and deliver modeling to drive insights and in-depth analysis.

Skills Needed:

We believe you have:

  • Previous experience working as a Data Analyst, Data Scientist or Data Engineer.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, programming in Python or similar programming languages, and software collaboration using git.
  • Experience with BI tools, development of BI features and support of users across departments.
  • Comfortable communicating with a diverse set of technical and business stakeholders in English, especially written (daily work is carried out in English and the Mentimeter team currently boasts 40+ different nationalities).

It is beneficial if you have:

  • Experience developing and maintaining data warehouses and data models
  • Experience with Looker
  • Experience with dbt
  • Hands-on experience working with defining and automating data quality
  • Professional experience working in an agile environment

Not required:

  • You don't have to know Swedish (daily work is carried out in English and the Mentimeter team currently boasts 40 different nationalities!)

Not sure you meet 100% of the requirements? We encourage and welcome your application anyway!

This role will have its base in our HQ in Stockholm and is an onsite/hybrid role.

Please note: Due to recent updates in Swedish migration law (June 2022), it is currently difficult for us to hire candidates from outside of the EU where we can guarantee a safe and risk-free relocation to Sweden with a prolonged work permit. We strive to make decisions on a case-by-case basis while taking this into account.

What you can expect from our recruitment process:

  1. Introduction interview - Get to know us better and introduce yourself
  2. Case - Show your skills by conducting a small business or technical case
  3. Competence interview - Meet the team and dive deep into your background and knowledge.
  4. Culture interview - Discuss our core values and culture, are we a perfect fit?

  • Inclusiveness - Transparency, equality and diversity
  • Work smart - Know when to excel but also when good enough is exactly that, good enough
  • Professionalism - “The consultant mindset”
  • Be Humble to others work
  • Have fun
