About the position

At Refined, we are on a mission to help teams collaborate better. Our software turns native Confluence and Jira content into themed, easy-to-use intranets, service desks, issue trackers, knowledge bases and more.

As a Back-end and Infrastructure Engineer you will be shaping the future of our cloud product and infrastructure and enabling the success of our fastest growing service. Your expertise will help to develop our cloud products as well as the infrastructure and deployment tools used for hosting the products. Your work will impact thousands of users around the world, ranging from people in tiny start ups to global enterprises. You will be a part of a small, dynamic team, where we follow agile principles. In practice this means for example incremental improvements and daily releases.

Most of your time will be spent on building new features with Node.js, and maintaining and improving our new multi-regional AWS-based cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK and TypeScript). An important part of the work is ensuring the availability and scalability of the service. We have hundreds of companies using our product daily - on a monthly basis we serve over 100M requests.

We put a lot of focus on quality and we take pride in things we ship out to customers. We work with realistic goals and don’t rush releases out the door. We aim to do things well.

What you’ll need to succeed in this role

• Experience of deploying production systems to AWS
• Experience with the following AWS services: CodeBuild, CodePipeline, ECS, Fargate, RDS, IAM
• Experience from back end developmentusing Node.js, Python or a similar language
• Ability to optimise, troubleshoot and design data structures for relational databases
• Shell scripting
• Curious and eager to learn new things and develop yourself professionally
