Mentimeter’s vision is to transform presentations and meetings into fun and interactive experiences by making it easy to listen and to be heard. We believe in giving everyone a voice, in every meeting and presentation. We are building a modern, friendly, and diverse product-first tech company based in Stockholm.

We’re currently looking for an Engineering Manager in the Commercial Area, more specifically the Payments team, which is responsible for handling digital payments from self-service customers to large enterprises. We want you to join us to help us develop our Product organization and enable our engineers and teams in making our product, and particularly its paid tiers, even more appealing to our users and customers. This role will be based in our Stockholm office.

The role

As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the well-being and personal development of members of a product team. Each product team is led by a trio consisting of Engineering Manager, Product Manager and Product Designer. The trio ensures that each of the crafts is represented in goals, decisions and daily work. They work with enabling team empowerment, delivery, productive and sustainable ways of working, and long-term business value. They ensure that a team and its stakeholders can depend on high-quality technical work.

As of 2023 we have 3 areas in the Product Department; Core, Commercial, and Tech Foundation. Together with your peers, you will aim to build a world-class engineering organization where people thrive and grow, grounded in an agile engineering culture with focus on craft and people. As part of the engineering manager team in the product department, you will also be involved in recruitment and staffing and employer branding.

We are spokespeople for modern, agile, collaborative, and pragmatic software development methods. We always strive to improve our development culture and it would be great if you want to contribute to this journey.

Skills Needed:

Who we would like you to be

We would love to hear what you think! This role is versatile and while we share what we expect, you may have skills that you would like to highlight that are valuable for us to consider.

Do you naturally love working with people, making them grow and developing teams? In this role, people will be the core. You will have to be a master collaborator working with different functions and teams. Managing people’s personal and professional development will be a key responsibility. Experience in recruiting and retaining talent by mentoring and teaching others to be effective mentors are great bonuses for this role.

As you are managing software engineers, you have a big interest in software development, rooted in your own professional experience as a software engineer. You are comfortable facilitating technical and architectural discussions to enable our engineers to make sound decisions. A good delivery mindset, being a leader in agile frameworks, and an interest in understanding user needs will help you excel in this role. Experience of online payments is beneficial but not required for this position.

All of this takes place in a modern dynamic product-led growth company. Therefore you must desire to work in a fast-paced environment where change is the only constant.
