Sales Director

We are building a modern, friendly, and diverse product-first tech company with HQ based in Stockholm and now, we are looking for a Sales Director to join and contribute to building & scale our Sales team in our brand new office in Toronto, Canada.
As a Sales Director, you will lead, develop and coach one of the 3 Sales departments at Mentimeter North America Inc. You will build on the success that we have and strengthen the team by providing new perspectives, business acumen and sales excellence. This role will help ensure that we build a transparent, collaborative and well-functioning Sales Team together with other Sales Directors and the Global team in Stockholm.
We currently have four role-specific areas that all require experienced support and development in our efforts to WIN the North American region. This is an open ad for a Sales Director with relevant experience in leading one of the 2 larger areas in the Sales Team:
- Pre Sales: Sales Development Representatives (non-Quota carrying) or Account Executives (Quota carrying)
- Post Sales: Relationship Managers (Quota carrying) + Customer Success Managers (non-Quota carrying)

The Sales Director role at Mentimeter Inc. is focused on a combination of working as a Line Manager and a Team Leader, where you will spend most of your time working with a team to overachieve their ARR goals, tasks related to managing a team such as development talks, employee administration and recruitment, and tactics development and implementation.
To thrive in this role you need to be motivated by leading managers, recruiting talent, team goal setting and overachievement, developing teams, coaching others, valuable experience in one of the areas listed above, and having a structured approach towards administrative tasks.
What you will do:
- Overall responsibility for one of the 2 areas in the Mentimeter Inc. Sales team.
- You will be part of our Global Sales Leadership team led by Chief Sales Officer.
- Proactively identify potential deviation vs. budget.
- Own recruitment and overall staffing for the area. Ensure we reach the recruitment budget and goal.
- Departmental Salary setting in collaboration with Chief Sales Officer and GM.
- Lead and develop a team of Sales Managers - responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Own, develop and implement strategy and tactics for the development of the area.
- Make sure we execute the tactic for the coming 18 months (dedicate people, request resources and follow up).
- Communicate, drive and foster relationships with clients and potential partners of higher importance when necessary.

Compensation model:
We strongly believe in the power of together, and we put a lot of effort into collaboration, teamwork and helping each other whenever needed. We believe that every part of Mentimeter, from Sales Development Representatives and Account Executives to Frontend developers and marketing managers contribute equally to our continued success. To foster and emphasize this culture and way of working, we apply a non-commission based salary model in our sales roles, which has proven to be very successful and appreciated across the team.
Skills Needed:
We believe you have:
- Sales Leadership experience from B2B SaaS
- Experience selling B2B software solutions into the SaaS market or similar market
- Previous line management and team leader experience in leading through Sales Managers
- Experience in leading a team with any of the role-specific areas listed above
- Experience working with KPIs and OKRs
- Ability to work with data to support decision making and scaling actions for effective results
- Proven track record in customer/stakeholder relationship management as well as meeting and exceeding sales targets in the North American market
- Strong negotiation, collaboration skills as well a proven track record of building strong teams
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Fluency in English
- Legally eligible to work in Toronto, Canada.
