Are you passionate about software and leadership? Would you like to join a growing software development company and lead a team who develop important parts of our core products, Astro WMS® and Astro WCS®?

We are now looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join our R&D organization.

Who we are

Consafe Logistics is a software development company. We design a product and technology that make warehouse operations of logistics and supply chain companies smarter, more effective, and thus more sustainable. We’ve been in the business for more than 40 years, providing warehouse management systems for many great brands and organizations all over the globe, and we still love doing it!

We also know that we would be nothing without our talented co-workers. Our ambition is to become the most attractive workplace in the supply chain industry in Europe, so we continuously strive to provide them with long-term development and career opportunities. Learn more about us here.

About the role

We are looking for a technically skilled software manager to lead part of the software organization at R&D in Lund, Sweden. You’ll report to the CTO, be part of the R&D leadership team and play a critical part in driving and continuously refining our technology vision and at the same time leading a team who develop important parts of the core product

The employees in the broader R&D organization (where you and your team are part) are daily working on many interesting challenges and areas such as: architecture, design and implementation of the core logic of the WMS and WCS, cyber security related to the solution, controlling complex warehouse automation, digital twin, web technology, SaaS/Cloud technology, AI and machine learning. The whole R&D organization works closely together, so even though you will have a few focus areas of responsibility, you and your team will also have the possibility to contribute to several of these areas.

Profile

Ideally you are a person who are passionate about both leadership as well as being able to understand software architecture, design and implementation yourself, so you can have an involvement in driving our projects forward together with your team. You would likely not write code yourself (unless you really want to), but it’s still good to have the ability be able to read code from time to time, and more importantly be technical enough to discuss design and architecture with your engineers and other stakeholders. Any experience in WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) or logistics is a plus, but not a must, since you will learn what you need to know.

Required experience

  • B.Sc. or higher in Software Engineering or similar corresponding experience
  • Previous experience in leading and coaching software teams
  • Good understanding of software architecture, design and implementation in various languages
  • General understanding of modern software systems and related topics (web, REST APIs, security, micro-services, relational databases, etc.)
  • Understanding of software engineering standard methodologies (CI/CD, unit testing, etc.)
  • Passion to recruit, hire and build high-performance engineering teams

The exact technology stacks you have experience of is not important since we believe you are able to learn what you need to if you have a passion for software in general.

However, you may still want to know that we work with a combination of .NET (both .NET Framework and .NET Core), TypeScript (React), some Python and SQL on multiple operating systems. Major parts of the backend are also developed in C/C++. The server logic incorporates complex algorithms for warehouse process optimization. On the client side, we develop solutions for web, desktop, mobile and handheld devices.

What we offer our co-workers

Professional growth and inspiring business environment: We are on an exciting growth journey, and this role will have a huge impact on our future success. You will have the opportunity to work together with a prominent international brand and drive the evolution of state-of-the-art WMS solutions for the future.

A strong community: At Consafe Logistics, we live by our three core behaviors, Together We Get There, Be Accountable and Act and Strive for Greatness. We have an open and inclusive company culture, where we always find occasions to celebrate and have fun together.
